Edwin B. Kantar(Eddie) of Santa Monica, California, bridge teacher, writer and professonal player, graduate University of Minnesota, enjoys racket sports, languages and classical music. Minnesota state table tennis champion 1948 and competitor in World Table Tennis Championships in Stockholm 1975. A popular author of many bridge books, a reuglar columnist for ACBL Bulletin, he is a frequent contributor to Bridge World, Bridge Today, Le Bridgeur and other periodicals around the world, contributing editor to Bridge Encyclopedia.

Kantar learned to play bridge at 11 and taught his first class at 17. His teaching is now confined mainly to cruises.
